The Company
Bonciani was founded in 1948 by a noble Florentine family of the same name, a name that distinguished itself right from the beginning in the production and maintenance of railway signalling plant.
In the following decades Bonciani gained a reputation as a company with recognised experience, reliability and great organisational and operative capacity in the ambit of the most important electric traction, railway and tramway works in Italy.
In July 1996 the ACMAR Group (one of the leading Italian industrial groups in the building sector, with marked dynamism also in various other sectors) acquired a majority shareholding in the company (taking the company over completely in 1998) and relocated its head office in Ravenna.
At the end of 1998 in a further phase of development and completion of its range technology Bonciani acquired its railway technology and electrification company branch from the historic company “Cariboni Paride S.p.A.” operating in this sector.
In the first five years of the twenty-first century Bonciani assumed a leading role in the market, recognised by clients and competitors in the various sectors of operations, technology, railways and industry.
In 2004 the Bonciani became a joint-stock company and in 2005 it achieved the highest turnover and acquisition of orders in the history of the company.
At the end of 2006 Bonciani took over the QUIMEL company of Milan (a company specialised in railway signal and cabin works), and thus created an organisation capable of assuming the role of one of the few companies in the Italian and European market with the capacity to operate in the entire range of works requested by clients with its own personnel, structures and technology.
In September 2009 Bonciani entered a merger with Ener.Cat. Italia, a company of the ACMAR group which operates in the hydroelectric sector for the production of power from renewable sources and thus arrived at its present conformation.
Bonciani, with its 60 years of experience in the sector, technological development, specialisation and the competence of its technicians and skilled workers, is now a leading company in the sector. Great interest and considerable resources are channelled into research, a field in which Bonciani assiduously pursues innovation and development in its production.
